Review:
"Quick Step Laminate Flooring is great for dog owners"
I had Quick Step american cherry laminate floors installed in my condo about 2 years ago. Before I had this done I did A LOT of research regarding what type of flooring I wanted to replace my nasty carpet. My major concern was my 65 lbs american bulldog, who is not necessarily the best behaved. I really wanted hardwood floors but did not want to spend the money on something that would a) get scratched up by my dog and b) fade in the light. I also wanted something that would be easy to maintain. After talking to the sales guy I decided on Quick Step laminate flooring. It took one day to install, and let me tell you, since that first day I consistently get compliments on my floor.
It is great. It is surprisingly resilient. High traffic areas by my door where dirt, little rocks etc. collect has stayed clean and scratch resistent. My dog has yet to leave any sort of scratches on it, however she does manage to slide around quite a bit when she gets excited if someone comes over. The floor is amazingly easy to clean. Just a damp cloth usually works, but for messier areas a non-harsh spray cleaner and a towel works great. The one scratch I managed to get on my floor was from sliding a fairly heavy chair out of the way when vacuuming that must've had a tiny piece of rock or something lodged in it. I have found that they do sell little kits to fix small scratches like these although I have not bought or tried this out yet. Any major repairs would have to have planks replaced, although I cannot imagine anything like that happening. I was told by the sales guy that the worst I could do is spill water on it and leave it there for weeks and there is no way I would be that careless.
I would definitely recommend Quick Step laminate flooring for anyone who owns a dog that is large and active. It looks great and is extremely resilient.
