"Thanks everyone - avoided a big mistake"
Today I saw a great sale at Home Depot of the Dubeau Tuscany flooring,
went home to measure the rooms and then decided to look up reviews which
I sometimes do. With the number of negative reviews I have read, I will
no longer consider the purchase of this brand of wood. Thank you all for
saving me thousands of dollars.

"Cracked finish"
I must admit the floor looks good for color and appearance but I too am
experiencing cracked finish. My flooring was acclimatized as is
required, installed as per the directions but still getting cracks. I
tried emailing Dubreau but no response. My next step is to complain to
Home Depot. If I had read this review before hand, I would have avoided
this flooring company.

"Buyer Beware"
I bought this flooring to install in my home. After letting it
acclimatize for a week I had professional hardwood installers come to
install my floor. Within a few boxes they found that the woods width was
not the same size which would end up leaving huge gaps in my floor, the
woods edges where not all stained or beveled properly and on top of all
that was also warped/bowed. Stay away from this product.

"Beware"
This is not worth the money, splits and cracks within a year. No sense in
complaining they'll just find an excuse, (humidity or installation) even
though it was all done properly. HD Shouldn't even sell it. Definitely
will not buy again. It's not like it was that cheap to buy at 2.99 sq.ft.

"My 3/4 maple turned out beautiful"
After reading all the terrible reviews on this company. I feel very
fortunate. My 3/4 inch maple satin finish turned out beautiful. I did it
myself. When I bought the flooring I inspected a few boxes and found no
problem with the wood. I got a nice deal from home depot. The wood
stayed in my home for a few months before I installed it. I laid wax
paper to help with the creaking and make it easier to install. I also
used more nails than was called for. The only complaint I had with this
product, is there were too many short pieces ( around one foot) Other
than that, the floor is stunning. It has shifted a bit, but that is
normal for a wood product, it is not laminate crap. I have filled a few
spaces with natural putty and I could not be happier. I saw some cheaper
and thinner Dubeau; yes you get what you pay for. It has been a few
months now and it still shines. I do feel sorry for the other people who
were not that lucky.

"The finished project looks amazing"
I bought 300 sq feet of the Satin Maple Hardwood. It was my first time
installing hardwood. Home Depot said there was a percentage of wood that
would be waste, as it is wood and it can warp and it is never perfect.
They were right about that, as I had about one box of wood that could
not be used. The installation went very well. My only complaint is that
there were too many short pieces in the boxes ( 12-14 inch) I put more
nails in than were required and the floor is solid with no noises when
you walk on it. I also put the wax paper underneath and that has helped
any creaking noises and it made it easier to install the wood. In the
end, I have a beautiful natural maple hardwood floor in my living room
and dining room. Yes, I would buy this product again. I like the finish
on the wood and it is environmentally friendly ( solvent and
formaldehyde free) and made in Canada.

"Hardwood finish cracking and boards warping"
We moved into a brand new home where the Dubeau hardwood was already
installed. Builder said it was acclimated into the home and he himself
installed it. We have finish cracks over the entire floor, the boards
are warping and we are fighting to get it replaced. Sad thing is our
builder thinks Dubeau is a reputable company and thinks he installed
amazing wood product. I can't believe all the bad reviews- how is this
company even up and running? Is this a business bureau issue? Has
anyone gone that route?

"Zero quality - do your homework first"
I tried dealing directly with the company and I was told wait until the
middle of winter when the air was dry then sand and re-stain the floors?
Not satisfied I filed a claim with hd which is where I purchased Dubeau
flooring in March of this year. Just received word back from hd and
Dubeau denied my claim surprise, surprise. They sent it to some third
party company and they basically said that because the moisture in the
wood which was anywhere from 9%-15.6% average of 13% (my inspector
provided these readings) that it has been subjected to an environment
where the relative humidity has been between 70% and 80% at a certain
period. My inspector came and checked moisture content of flooring and
he also checked the basement humidity level 48% and also the moisture
content in the floor joists 49%. I don't know or have heard where the
humidity level inside a house would get up to 70 or 80%, that's
ridiculous. This flooring is crap buyer beware!

"Not the right colors and assorted junk"
What a shame to pay for all this hardwood advertised as Natural Oak. Not
at all what the samples looked like in Home depot. When opening the
boxes, my installer said it was a nightmare trying to match these strips
to look decent and all were different color tones, joints did not fit
tightly and were stuck with spending hours and many many boxes opened
and bought in order to get some continuity and make some sort of sense
of it all. Instead of days to install it took 3 weeks and much time and
money spent for nothing.
