"Run, don't walk, away from this brand!"
We noticed within just a few weeks of installation that there were tufts of carpet coming out. We figured this was because the carpet was new but after a few months there were hundreds of tufts coming out, so we contacted the company and they sent an independent contractor out to inspect the carpet. Now keep in mind, this was not a cheap carpet, it was the highest end the store carried. The inspector said "yeah, this shouldn't happen". The letter we received from the company stated that the carpet was not covered by the warranty because the tufts or pulls could have been caused by pet nails, or moving furniture or sharp objects. Funny it was happening in rooms that the door was closed 99% of the time! The carpet looked so bad that after just 3 years we offered a carpet allowance when we sold our home.

"Lasted only 6 years"
Had carpet installed 6 years and shows severe wear already..had it cleaned today and looks dirty in back hall. Carpet cleaner said it was not dirt but wear. There are only 2 of us senior citizens who live here. Outrageous!

"Looks great, still sheds a bit"
After 4 plus years this carpet still looks great even without annual steam cleaning. A dog and two cats shed plenty, the two adults provide additional wear, yet there's no matting or obvious wear spots. Spills clean up with water or Folex carpet spray. It does lose entire pieces of yarn which worried me at first but now, after almost 5 years, I just throw away the pieces as they seem to come from random spots rather than a single area. It looks great and is wearing well.

"Is Krause the issue?"
I have been in the flooring trade since I was a young boy working under my father. I have now owned a flooring store for many years. So I have seen many things come and go and have seen the issues with many manufactures over the years. I was informed about the reviews of Kraus on this site from a customer of mine. I have to say that for the most part I see consumer and installation error as the problem, not the product. @Pam Moshier. Throw your steam mop in the garbage. In most all hard surface issues it disqualifies your claim. Cupping is caused by moisture. So either your steam mop is contributing to the problem or it was installation error. If the installer did not acclimate the product, take proper moisture readings or did not follow the installation guidelines this will cause exactly what you are explaining. @Steve L. The creaking you are speaking of usually has an underlying cause. Movement in your subfloor, fastening schedule was not followed by installer etc. However if the product was defective as you stated they were a loose fit. They should have never been installed in the first place. A professional installer would have noticed this and refused the installation. The issue could have been resolved if installer followed procedure. @R. Conner If the product split it is moisture related. If the installers did not acclimate the product, take moisture readings before and during install and did not use the proper moisture proofing that is the cause of your problem plain and simple. Yes you have to have protectors on your chairs. Be upset at the company who installed your flooring not the manufacture. S. Thompson I don't have enough information to help you on this one. 19 months is a long wait to get a response. I will tell you this. When you buy from a box store you get zero representation on your warranty. Easy way to solve this problem purchase from a local flooring store. All warranty paperwork will be done by the store. I have been purchasing from Krause with zero issues. I would have to say it is one of the best manufactures I work with. Best tip I can give anyone is to Stay away from the big box stores. You get what you pay for. Second is hire a professional! Your builder or local handy man is not a professional hardwood installer. Good Luck to Everyone!

"Kraus"
Junk. Our 1st carpet was high end carpeting that literally turned to dust. Kraus pro-rated the warranty so we ended up paying an additional 2K to have it replaced. The replacement carpet is now in need of stretching, is bunching up and there's only 2 people who live in the home. The only reason I went with Kraus again was because of the pro rated warranty that saved us a few bucks... Garbage... Never again.

"Great warranty is completely worthless!"
Our carpet was installed by a reputable professional. Within the last 4 years it had to be re-stretched twice, and desperately needs it again! It has wrinkles everywhere, and Kraus has been totally uncooperative in replacing it. There are wrinkles where there was no foot traffic at all! They can guarantee carpet for 100 years, but the warranty means absolutely nothing! Do not buy carpet from Kraus! Terrible experience!

"Awful, Awful, Awful"
We have had this carpet for two years. We live in this home only half of the year and in another home the other half. There are only two of us with no children. This carpet has paths in it that are glaringly defined and no amount of vacuuming will raise the pattern. Kraus has denied our claim, using the exact wording contained in their paid inspectors report, which contains errors. This is a company that takes the attitude that you must make them pay. They deny everything!

"Warranty is irrelevant with Kruas--beware!"
I have had Kraus carpeting in 3 rooms and a hallway. After 6 months, I noticed the carpet in the hallway was worn-looking--the texture retention was waning. Approx 9 months after the carpet was installed, I contacted Kraus. They sent out a carpet inspector & he rated it a 3 after just 9 months of installation-- just above the international standardized rating scale for loss of texture of 2.5 at which time they will honor their warranty & replace the carpet. I reported Kraus & their poor quality carpet & lack of honoring warranty to the BBB, but Kraus would not budge. Don't buy Kraus! My thought is they collude with the carpet inspectors whom they pay to rate their poor quality carpets just above the international standardized rating scale to get out of honoring their warranties. Kraus warranty states: Kraus Group of Companies warrants that the surface pile of this carpet will not exhibit a significant loss of texture under normal residential use for the listed warranty years following installation, provided that the carpet is properly installed and maintained indoors according to Kraus' maintenance and installation recommendations (see general warranty details). Texture retention is defined as the ability of the individual carpet tufts to retain their visible shape and not burst, bloom, or lose their twist at the surface of the carpet. Abnormal loss of texture is defined as a rating of less than 2.5 on the international standardized rating scale, CRI TM-101 (1.0 = severe change; 5.0 = new or no change). A professional cleaner must clean carpet under this warranty at least every 12- 18 months.

"Terrible, Kraus refuses to do anything"
Had commercial carpet installed at end of April. Within 2 weeks the carpet started to come apart. Contacted the seller-Superior Interior of Sarver, PA-he said he would file a claim (that was on May 11th), today is May 22.Never heard anything. I contacted Kraus carpet, they are sorry, but they can not help me. Never buy any Kraus carpeting. Run away. Think twice about Superior Interior's also. Installers brought several items and nothing done.

"The worst carpet"
I had this carpet installed by Giant Carpet in June 2016. The looping in the carpet starting pulling at the seam within a week. Was told it happens after installation and a few vacuuming would take care of it. Fast forward to April and the carpet is a mess of loop pulls and wearing. Less than a year old. An estimator came out and even said to me this shouldn't happen. I contacted Giant Floors and they informed me the claim was denied. So much for my warranty. Don't use Krause or Giant Floor. Completely Aweful.
