"Worst floor ever"
The floor looked beautiful in the showroom. Looked great when installed. But, it was not made to walk on. Every footstep leaves footprints. Barefoot, sneakers or leather soled shoes leave prints I spent a lot of money on the maple floor and could just cry. I covered the entire house. I feel like I was taken to the cleaners.

"The Good and the Very Bad"
The good: Looks good when installed The bad: Comes in very short lengths. Your installer has to be careful to produce a random pattern. The very bad: Soft as butter. If you drop anything it leaves a dent which then collects dirt that is impossible to remove and very visible as black marks scattered over the floor.

Review:
"Terrible"
Like some of the other reviewers I had wall to wall carpet. A family installed Mirage Maple flooring years ago and it was beautiful. I wanted that and though5 I was going to get it. When the installation began things did not look good... on this day I had the dealer from where I bought the wood and a wood floor installation expert in to check things out. The expert said he would classify the wood I had as "B grade flooring". The salesman said I could certainly send the wood back but there were no guarantees that I wouldn't get the same such product. I had a painfully slow contractor, who was so slow, he left no room for error or mishap when it came to the other areas of the project... I was out of time and had to go with the wood I had. It is down now, and besides the contractor leaving far too many dings and dents in the wood, the gaps are terrible and with sock feet you feel the boards - this is one thing the floor expert had warned me about and asked me - was I ok with feeling where the boards meet - at the time I thought how bad could it be? Well, it's bad... the floor boards don't meet snuggly in many spots, you can feel the ridges where the boards meet, it is hard to keep clean, dents easily... just bad and I regret it every time I look at it or walk on it. I certainly never thought I would have to be cleaning between the hard wood boards to pick out dirt. Do not waste your money... it is just plain bad. If it were any good it wouldn't have so many terrible reviews!

"Do Not Buy"
Beautiful floor that dents if you breathe too hard on it. Never had a floor so crazy prone to denting in my life. Within weeks it is peppered with dents! Thousands of dollars wasted - and Mirage does nothing about it - but how can they? It would cost them a fortune to fix I guess, so they rather ignore the issue. Just way to sensitive a floor for any useful purpose. So sad that I found out too late.

"So far, So good"
I'm not an expert in wood flooring, but I know what I like. After years of wall to wall carpeting we needed a change. After looking for months at different brands of hardwood we settled on Mirage- for the product, wood and color, and finish. In terms of product, I didn't want to go with a classic hardwood because I wanted something more stable, and didn't want to have to be bothered making adjustments to door frames, and floor transitions and baseboard- we settled with the Engineered product After looking at so many brands i was impressed with the wear layer. I couldn't figure out for the longest time why the Mirage product looks different- and finally realized its the cut of the wood-we selected the red oak and the face of the wood is finer looking- the grain isn't magnified or phoney looking -it just seems to have a cleaner look. The milling of the wood was cleaner out of the box- our installer thought he would start talking about the product when he was going around doing his measurements. When choosing the color we brought home 5 or 6 different display boards to try in all different lighting- initially we thought we would go with a nice dark color- every board looked black in the house- It's amazing how lighting in the home makes a difference. We settled on Golden Oak with a semi-gloss finish. I found the other finishes made the floors look lack-luster with a haze or film on them. For what I wanted the semi-gloss finish simply enhanced the color of the wood. Its been a year since the installation, I think the floors have mellowed a bit and have nice amber honey tone. I just take a dry microfiber mop over them a few times a week and it keeps them buffed. So far so good!

"Do Not Put in Your Kitchen!"
Looks beautiful at first - I paid extra for this wood due to the extra long warranty on this finish. any oil or food leaves a mark - it gets sucked into the open grain. 1 year later the kitchen looks terrible.

"Good durability, expert install"
The floor I chose was for the bathroom, so I got this brand for its water resistant surface. The contractor they recommended did a nice job. It's funny how just replacing old vinyl can make such a big difference.

"Looks cheap and everything leaves a mark"
Like many others here I am very much regretting my decision to get Mirage engineered hardwood floors. I did extensive research and thought I was making a good decision. Not only do they scratch and dent if you drop ANYTHING on them (like a pen, hair brush), they look so cheap. I have 3 friends that got cheap laminate installed because it was in their basement and they all have rather large dogs and in each case their cheap laminate looks much better than my floor and is much more durable. The Mirage replaced a very low cost engineered hardwood floor and I'm so sad because the cheap floor looked so much better. Unfortunately, I now hate my floors but cannot afford to replace them again. Please do not purchase this flooring, you will regret it.

"Don't waste your money"
Terrible floors. Worse then the Bruce Industrial grade that came with the house. Within hours of installation the stores started to show scratches and dents. They looked awful. A few years later and I am looking to replace them. Unfortunately, I spent over $10,000 on the floors (materials alone). The worst part of this situation is that I contacted Mirage before I ordered the floors. They recommended the floors I purchased and stated they were extremely durable. I went with what I thought was a harder wood with a high Jenka (hardness) score per Mirage's recommendation. I had a company representative look at the house and also had correspondence with the president of Boa Franc (Parent Company). Basically, they could have cared less. I am surprised that anyone would buy these floors based on some of these reviews, my experience, and the lack of customer centricity. All I wanted was to replace these with something that would last. I would have even paid any difference for a fair offer. Do not buy Mirage floors! I have plenty of pictures if anyone wants proof.

"No customer service"
Bought $10k of flooring for my condo. The installer tells me that about 40% is defective. When snapped/locked some pieces have a raised lip for what is supposed to be a smooth surface floor. When calling their tech or referred to tech, all you get is voice mail and no one returns your calls after leaving several messages. Now I am left with about half of my new condo unfinished. Frustrated.
