"Nice look but a terrible product"
We picked this company because it's Canadian. It was more expensive but we thought we were buying quality. But one year after installation the panels were separating. No one warned us it requires 40% humidity all year long. Tried humidifiers. We have 25% during the winter and it's splitting more each year and curling. No warranty coverage. So it's going in the garbage, $20,000 gone.

"Bad floor"
We have worked with a flooring store in our area since the 1980's. Doing a complete redo of floors we decided to choose Mercier. Our store was very helpful in getting us the product in fairly short order. Our installer, with 40 years experience, made a laser-straight and magnificent installation. Within weeks of the new floor being down, it began cupping. The store, the distributor, and our contractor attended a meeting to view the floor. Despite following Mercier install protocols, the floor is awful. Currently, waiting for a decision on what happens next. Four wood floor experts in our town are aware of the situation and say the flooring is defective. Place your bets, I feel that we are not being heard. Time will tell. So far, Mercier product is bad news. I hope to be wrong on a refund or settlement.

"Not recommend"
Floor does not wear well. Dents, scratches and chips at the drop of a hat. Would recommend looking for another brand.

"Amazing quality"
Installation easy and less than 1% waste. I look at the floor every day the beauty makes me smile. The finish still looks new 7 years later. These floors will be around well past my lifetime. I believe they'll look better after first refinish when the alignment will be perfect. Great canadian lumber. You will not be disappointed!

"Poor quality"
I have unfotunatly purchased the beautiful ( I mean it ) floor from mercier. Look is boulots and that is why we decide to go with one of the most expensive flooring on the market Due to their warranty of being very high quality Pity that I just started to read all negative reviews and unfortunately have to agree to all poor reviews about 3 main things: - wood is so soft that it dents, scratches with almost nothing ( have never experienced such a thing with other wood flooring) - Chips off on the edges of the wood plank easily and even in the spots where there is no traffic at all. - gets dirty look so fast due to footprints ( footprint marks so visible straight away after very carefully cleaning and drying with special product ) , so it almost no difference of washing your floor. I would really Advise to stay away from this brand. No good at all except of the look.

"Very poor quality"
A terrible company with an even worse product. The hard maple flooring that I purchased was already showing scratches and dents before installation had even completed. When I contacted the company, they brushed me off and told me to contact the store that I purchased it from. The wood is so brittle and fragile that it gets dented and marked up underneath an office chair mat! Furniture pads also make next to no difference. I cannot stress this enough: do not purchase Mercier flooring unless the only thing that will come into contact with it is your feet (in socks).

"Was Hesitant But Very Happy"
Saw some not so great reviews of Mercier wood flooring. But after talking with the Mercier rep and the flooring store we used we decided to use a Mercier product. Several months have gone by since the install and we are very very satisfied. Flooring looks awesome and is performing as promised. Do your homework and perhaps look past some negative reviews. For example, If you drop a frying pan on your wood floor and it cracks the floor, is that Merciers problem ? I think not.

"Mercier does not care about their customers"
I am a 54 year old man who has renovated a couple of homes so I consider myself a very capable handy man... So I have a couple of issues with Mercier product.. First of all I have noticed after having the floor for about 10 years roughly that the finish is lifting in spots just from wear and tear.. Now I realize it's been 10 years however I've been in homes with hardwood floors much older with less wear.. This is a concern but I can live with it I will refinish the floor when it gets bad enough.. The real problem I have with Mercier is recently we had a small flood in our home, and a section of the hallway hardwood flooring was damaged.. We contacted our supplier who contacted Mercier and they were told by Mercier flooring that the floor could be supplied special order with a higher cost.. I was okay with this since I could match the flooring fairly close in colour.. So I went ahead and ordered not only enough to replace hallway but also enough to floor 3 bedrooms which would complete my home in Harwood throughout... While after 3 weeks I get a phone call from the retailer saying that Mercier would not be suppling flooring as they ran out of this type of stain and would not be purchasing more... So I was willing to pay a higher cost and they said sorry not our problem.. To me this says Mercier flooring does not care about their customers.. I have gone to plan B and fixed my home however I will never deal with Mercier again.. They are just another one of these take your money Companies that don't care about you after the deal... Shame on you Mercier Flooring... I am only writing this review to help others make well informed decisions..

"Very dissatisfied finish and durability"
After contacting our supplier for warranty on finish and durability for Mercier "Engineered" VVO Cabin Pine Series flooring that was installed November 15/15 and waiting 4 months before there sales rep arrived at our house to evaluate and take pictures of the dents and finish. My wife and myself are seniors and the only ones that live in our house. Our supplier was told by Mercier that after reviewing the pictures that the finish was from abuse that is total bullshit, after 4 years and with a 35 year warranty they will not do anything for us. Very disappointed, if we had read reviews than we would not have ordered this flooring.

"Scammed by Mercier"
Read this post. I had the same exact problem. They told me it was "normal" and refused to replace it. They offered to glue down some replacement boards. Now I find out it was a defect they knew about. In May 2008 I had Mercier Brazilian Cherry hardwood floors put into my dining room, hall and living room. I selected Mercier Brazilian Cherry hardwood because I had it installed in another room six years before. Within 3 months after the installation I noticed several boards were starting to crack. The degree of cracking varies from noticeable splintering with the top coat being broken on many and distinct crack lines on others without any splintering (yet). The installer came out and looked at the floor and told me it was a manufacturing problem. The wholesaler who sold it to the Retailer I purchased it from came out and agreed it was a product defect. Yesterday the Mercier rep came out and looked at it. He told me they would do board replacements (cut out the problem boards and glue down replacements). Then he told me to "adjust my expectations" and "pick out the boards that bothered me the most" because if he could not see a crack when standing directly above a board then it was not considered a problem. Hre is a link to some pictures of the cracking https://s125.photobucket.com/user/johnemorgan/slideshow/Floor%2520Problems?albumview=slideshow
