"Has turned into total junk"
Bruce used to be 'top of the line' ...now it is little better than firewood The wood is fine... the finish largely good... their milling ?? Hahaha I can do better on my portable tablesaw and routertable Boards varied in width by as much as 1/8" making a clean install impossible Ends of boards are "almost" square ... but still leave wedge gaps Tounge and grove is so sloppy that boards can 'wiggle' up and down and often could not even be force to be even due to bad alignment. We shipped the whole 1500sqft back to retailer .... got a new load (changed color while at it) better -not F grade .... but far from allowing a great floor 'C +' at best Will no longer recomend this product

Review:
"Terrible"
First let me say that I should have consulted reviews on Hardwood floors first and I would have not bought Bruce. I went with Bruce as I have a Bruce floor for 30 yrs and with minimal maintenance have kept it decent looking. But on opening the first box of flooring and installing we realized the wood was in horrible condition and at that point we had to Quality Control every piece of the 16 boxes we needed. We found worm holes, cracked floor sections, chipped floors, tremendous variance in color, rotted undersides of the planks, rotted knots on the tongues, machined planks with no tongue, unfinished spots, chips where knots were, ends not in square on planks, splintered wood , gouges etc etc etc. We had 3 boxes of rejects out of 14 boxes. Notified Home Depot and they will cover. Notified Bruce and it appears they could care less.

"Don't install it"
I have had this flooring for 18 years. I tried to contact Bruce Flooring before warranty was up. All I got was a run around. My flooring is flaking, color is blotched and coming off in several areas. I have used nothing but Bruce Floor cleaner. They would do nothing about it. Do not buy this junk product. Customer service is horrible and they do not stand behind warranty. I will never buy Bruce again and hope you don't either. It's horrible.

"Shiny Garbage Scrap wood"
Many we defective out of the box. But the biggest issue is that there were only 2 pieces in each box that were over 48 inches. There were many many many pieces sorter than 1 foot. I wanted a hard wood floor not a patchwork quilt made of wood. I cant believe how bad these warped, damaged, faulty crap, scrap wood pieces were, and that Home Dumpot keeps selling them. I am half way through installing this floor and am stopping and going to find a quality product. I'll take the $500 hit and see what I can get back from Home Depot. This is unbelievable. What a disaster and waste of time... valuable time that is certainly scarce.

"Agree with majority of reviews - aweful flooring"
We purchased about 800 sq.ft of Bruce hardwood, rated at 50yr. wear warranty. It became clear immediately, upon installing the flooring that it was of poor quality. Many of the pieces were defective right out of the box, and we returned about 6 boxes of collective defective pieces. Upon installing, we found that the flooring was easily scratched, dented, and wore with light everyday use. We contacted Home Depot Canada about the deficiencies, and they had a Bruce employee come out to inspect the flooring. He provided a report indicating that the flooring met the manufacturer standards. We went back to Home Depot Canad,a and obtained a goodwill credit for a small percentage of the value. The net of the experience is that we will never again purchase a Bruce/Armstrong product.

"Bruce hardwood flooring sucks"
We bought Bruce hardwood flooring in May 2013. It has since buckled in several places. I tripped over it and after 3 years of knee injections, need total knee replacement. I am still waiting to see if they will reimburse what I paid for this terrible flooring. If not, may need to see about filing a lawsuit. We are so disgusted after paying over $3,000.00 for this flooring. Our advise, stay far away from Bruce flooring

"Don't buy this"
Before I even moved into my brand new house I saw cracked boards and splinters in the Bruce Hardwood floor. It scratches easy, and is the worst new floor I've ever seen. It's gonna have to be repaired somehow or replaced. Bruce should not sell this junk.

"Hundreds of Scratches"
In Oct. 2018 a Bruce hardwood floor was installed in our bedroom. Within 2 weeks, we started noticing scratches in the finish and by 6 months there are hundreds, maybe thousands, of scratches. We have a dog, and the dog's nails are kept short. We also have hardwood in other parts of the house and there's no problem with that hardwood. But the Bruce warranty disqualifies scratches made due to a pet, so they've got themselves covered. The upshot is that the finish on this floor is so fragile (cheap, flimsy) that it would be impossible for it to look presentable 6 months down the road. If you are willing to spend the money to get a hardwood floor, go with someone who does a good job.

"Rapid deteriorating finish"
We built a family room addition to our existing home. In this construction process, based on their name in the industry, we selected Bruce Hardwood Flooring (Gunstock) and purchased the product through our local Home Depot. Five years after the installation, the finish on the flooring on the north side of the room, had deteriorated significantly with cracks and dulling. The room gets very little use. And the direct sunlight comes through an area on the south side of the room rather than the area of significant deterioration. And there has never been any moisture or water issues that might be an underlying cause. In reviewing the problem with the flooring specialist at Home Depot, they assured me they would contact their Bruce distributor and seek resolution. That was the last conversation we had (no response or resolution). I will NEVER purchase another product by Bruce.

"Waste of money"
We had the existing engineered hardwood replaced last summer when we bought our house. Some of the existing was bowing. We should have saved the money and kept the old floor! The Bruce flooring dents and scratches easily. This floor is not suitable if you have pets, kids, furniture, or intend to live in the area you are installing it. It's been dented from couch feet and a dropped plastic peanut butter jar! Plastic feet on any furniture will scratch it. We contacted the company and were told they don't cover damage from everyday use. The contractor was no help either.
