"Just you and ME"
I purchased a Shaw Tuftex carpet less then two years ago for what I characterized to the salesperson as a "very high traffic area". The salesperson never asked about pets, etc etc. Within a year, the blue carpet was loosing it's color, and the color continues to fade in spots where something has spilled, or a pet had an accident, or other issue. The carpet looks horrible and Shaw flooring and Shop at Home (where I bought it) have been no help. They said the carpet came with a 2-year warantee as long as I had it professionally cleaned within 2 years. I have had it cleaned twice and it is no better. Shaw says the carpet is not waranteed against pet stains. That was NEVER mentioned during my purchasing discussions, and I asked for advice on what would hold up. I will NEVER purchase Shaw carpet again.

"Shaw Elegant Splendor (Known for being soft)"
I choose this 5-star carpet for high traffic, as I have 4 children and neighbor kids over often, and my children loved it because it is so exceptionally soft. Even the backing of the carpet is soft, so very nice to walk and lay on. My issue is after only one year the traffic areas are crushed in what is called "corn rowing." We vacuumed often, and finally bought a rug rake to use before we vacuumed, and even cleaned the carpets to try and rid of the little wave pattern. Unfortunately, it is permanent, and after spending nearly $8,000 on carpet for a large home, we are looking to replace it eventually when we can afford it. Feeling disappointed and ripped off everytime I have to look at it. Shaw will have other types of very durable carpet, but you may want to stay away from the ones that are specifically made and touted to BE SOFT.

"Shaw Living Berber Carpet A Big Disappointment"
I had the Saw Living Brand Berber carpeting installed on the entire 2nd floor of my home about 4 years ago. I have to say that it has been nothing but a huge disappointment for me. When I was in the market for carpeting a did a lot of research. From all of the information that I had found and from what many many salesman told me Shaw Living Berber Carpeting was the ideal choice for me. This carpet was touted as being the most durable and stain resistant carpet out there, this could not be further from the truth. My first issue with this carpeting ( I had Taupe color installed)was the lack of stain resistance in the carpet. I had this carpet installed as I have 4 children and was told that it was one of the best on the market for stain resistance ( UNTRUE). I have found that once you get a stain on this carpet it is next to impossible to get it removed. Being that this carpet is like a tweed design once you get a stain on the carpet you just cannot seem to get it out. Unlike other carpets I have had in the past the stain just seemed to attach itself to the fibers of this carpet and would not come out now matter what I did. I have even had the carpet professionally cleaned and they could not get a lot of the stains out. The biggest problem that I have had with this carpet is something I have never ever come across before. One day I was running a vacuum across the carpet and the vacuum seemed to feel like it got stuck and as I moved it all of a sudden the carpet just started to run like crazy. What happened was there was a loose fiber in the carpet and the brushes from the vacuum grabbed a hold of it and just kept on pulling it. Before I could even notice what was going on there was a huge run in the carpet. What this means is that now I had a very long piece of carpet fiber stuck in my vacuum and a huge bald spot in my carpet. the only think I could do at that point was just simply cut the fabric out of my vacuum and leave the carpet alone. I did have a carpet repairman come to home to try and repair the carpet, but there was nothing that he could do. I was informed that this seems to be a common problem with the Shaw Living line. Needless to say I had to have the carpet replaced and I went on and installed a wood floor in it's place. In closing if you are looking for a carpet for your home I would not recommend any of the Shaw Living line for your home.

"The quality of Shaw flooring is what I expect!"
It has been 5 years now since my carpet has been installed. The the amount of traffic it receives between the three kids and the dog, I have been very impressed. The durabilty of the carpet has been excellent, not only because of the traffic but we had a water leak upstairs that flooded the entire second floor. Although this was leak was discovered after 12 hours, the carpet was able to be saved. The restoration company that came to the home had even commented on the carpet quality. The one thing I found interesting is that they mention this. As you know people are looking for work and the more work they can get the better. Drywall, baseboard, lino flooring all had to be replace but the carpet was able to be saved. I would recommend their products to my friend as I have had other product from them and did not have any issues with them.

"Shaw brand Carpet Review"
I have had my carpet for just over 3 years in my living room. I needed a thinner carpet to keep the allergies down, so I was worried about buying something that would break down fast. I ended up going with the Shaw brand carpet because they had the blue color that I wanted, and I have been pretty impressed. It has few signs of wear, the dye still looks strong, and there is little to no fraying. I would certainly recommend Shaw brand carpet to a friend. I have had to do no patches or repairs to it. The only thing that I have seen that I liked better in other carpets is when they have a "stain protective" treatment. My carpet doesn't stain easier than most other carpets, but in an ideal world next time I would find one that did. Overall I am happy with my purchase. 4 of 5 stars.

"Love my "California Berber""
I've had my carpet for four years. It is in a small work area at home. It is the type called "California Berber," which is similar to shag, but not as long...no rake needed! We installed it ourselves and it was very easy. I love the feel of it on my bare feet, how soft it is. The blend of colors they are able to achieve with this type of carpet is wonderful; you don't look at your floor and see just one color, it is a beautiful mixture. It is so easy to care for. The only downside is that our cat had a urine accident on it and it was difficult to get out because the fibers are so long. I called the care line and they gave excellent support on how to remove it. I have recommended this type of carpet to several people.

"Quality of Shaw carpet"
I decided to recarpet my house several years ago and decided to go with a relatively cheap carpet. I purchased some Shaw carpet and was immediatlety dissapointed in how easily it stained, I was further disappointed in how unresilient it was as well. Fibers would easly come up and the backing seemed to be crumbling and coming up through the top in high traffic areas. The main thing that i did not like about it was its density. When walking barefoot upon it, you could easily feel the rough backing underneath, I found that to be very uncomfortable, forget about laying down on it, not very soft on the back. In the future I will be sure to make a more wise investment, not necessarily by switching brands, but just ensuring I am more aware of how a carpet will perform over the years. I know Shaw does make higher quality products, so I think I will start there because I believe their prices are still fairly competitive. I highly recommend that other people do the same because once you purchase it, you're stuck with it more or less. Also be sure to keep untrained puppies away from it. Good luck, prospective buyers, think about the future wear and tear as your primary consideration, you will not regret it.

"The beautiful carpet..."
I have a beautiful carpet at my house. I got it from Shaw Industries about nine months ago. It's been almost an year now but the carpet still looks clean and soft. I have their carpet in bedroom and a living room. I love the way it looks, first the color is awesome you can choose from variety of colors. I chose the color that perfectly matches my curtains. Second it is very soft that you just want to step on it. It feels so good to walk over it. Third it is just the perfect size for my bedroom and living room. You can get any size you want they have many options. The only thing I don't like about it is it takes time to clean. As it is delicate I don't want to clean it roughly. But the brand is awesome and the carpet has enhanced the overall look of my house. I would always buy carpet from Shaw Industries and suggest my friends and relatives to do so.

"Great"
I have had these floors for about 3 years. When I first installed them I fell in love. Not much has changed and I still adore my floors. I love the color of them. They are hunter green. They have maintained a decent appearance, considering they are three years old and have experienced lots of wear. Even after spilling on the floor, I was able clean it up. There is still a small stain, but if I do not point it out no one see it. My kids constantly are playing on it. I also have dogs who run around and have fun on the floors. At first my carpets were very spongy and soft, but as the years went on it compacted a bit. This is understandable because my floors receive heavy traffic. The only thing bad about my floors was that customers service. They were hard to work with, but the floors themselves are great. I have never had to repair them and would recommend them to my friends.

"Shaw Brenham: Pleasantly soft carpet for a good price"
I recently installed Shaw Brenham carpet in three rooms and so far I've found it wonderfully soft to the touch. What attracted me to the Shaw Brenham specifically was the price per square foot offered by the retailer, the warranties it comes with, the ANSO stain-resistence built into the carpet and the quality of the carpet. Shaw offers a lifetime stain resistance warranty on this carpet, a 20-year quality assurance warranty and a 20-year texture retention warranty. These are excellent warranties for the price of the carpet. I found the Shaw Brenham soft to the touch and superior to other Shaw and Mohawk-brand carpets of the same price. I enjoy walking on this carpet barefoot and it does not rough up the feet. Based on length of warranty and feel, I chose the Shaw Brenahm at $3.04/square foot over the Shaw Truitt-Hall carpet at $2.96/square foot -- which comes with a 10-year warranty -- and the Mohawk Big Shot carpet at $2.67/square foot, which also comes with a 10-year warranty. I found Shaw's range of carpets easy to determine what's best for my home. I would definitely recommend this carpet to anyone looking for an affordable option for their flooring.
