"In tears over customer servicr"
Thought all was well. Sales person was very helpful. Timeline for installation quick. Installer took all day to install and area is very small. I had to leave but my husband stayed. The rug looked great when I saw it. Bit of fuzz in certain areas but thought my dyson would work great. After they left I was relieved. Then my vacuum like sales man said to use without and bristles was used. Up popped 8 frayed areas and one large loop that was pushed down sort of twirled. I immediately told the sales person. Inspector said looked like several issues, not snug, frayed areas and most likely faulty carpet. My husband said he saw a couple cuts from layers that weren’t at piecing but thought was nothing. After one day the sales person said "nothing was wrong enjoy your carpet". I appealed and sent pictures of damage. He then passed on to his manager since was very evident. It has been same response from sales person. Mgr still looking into it. I am still waiting after 3 months. No additional frays but looks awful.

"Horrible product"
Spent $40.00/sq. yd which sounded to me like a lot of money. However, we were replacing our 20 year old carpet. Now I wish I would have kept the old stuff. Customer Service is horrible--especially Sue Dixon who clearly was not interested in helping us at all. The carpet was installed in 4 rooms and it's me, my husband and a dog. They tried to tell me the dog ruined the carpet with her nails in this one particular spot. Also, where my husband's feet were planted to get up and down from his chair was wearing thin after 6 months. After riding Shaw to get this matter fixed, they offered to replace one room of carpeting however, that did not include installation. Screw you Shaw--I learned my lesson. I'll try a different company and next time I'll look at the reviews first which I didn't think you would have to do with carpet but trust me--You Do. I would Never purchase anything with the Shaw name attached to it.

"Get your stuff together"
This carpet is a nightmare to install, it is the most inconsistent carpet you can lay the same piece a different day and it feels completely different it does not stretch well it takes way to many razor blades to cut and trim it's very stiff and they have tons of manufacturing flaws, no quality control at the plant, Shaw has made carpet fine for years upon years and now these new lines are trash get your head out of your rears and get your crap together.

"Starts looking "stiped" and becomes buckled"
Due to the way this carpet is weaved 3 inches at a time the carpet starts to look striped like a zebra or tiger. The pattern is not consistent and uniform. Store manager asked an employee who had also bought this Platinum Texture Accents and the employee confirmed thar her carpet also shows tiger stripes. In addition the carpet has started to buckle in several locations.
In defense of Shaw they have agreed to replace this poor design.

"Waste of money"
We thought the carpet looked nice from the sample square and purchased enough for 3 rooms six months ago. 2 rooms are never used and the third is our master bedroom. After 2 months the carpet in our bedroom was packing down due to normal foot traffic. It is just myself and my husband, no pets. I'm afraid to vacuum every day because it may harm the carpet fiber. We are so disappointed with this product.

"Disappointed Customer"
Family room carpet replaced due to removing a wall. Old carpet was also 18 years old but looked great. Shaw carpet was down less than 3 months and noticed "pulls". Thinning carpet and wear very noticeable. Now it is 5 years old and needs to be replaced due to, what I believe, is a defect with the carpet. They sent out a rep to inspect who reported that it is due to my vacuum. No other rooms in house have issues but the Shaw. Will never use their product again!

"Don't buy this"
We had this carpet installed several years ago, when it was first put in it looked great. My sister, who has done extensive home decorating stated that "It was the most beautiful carpet she had ever seen." However, after 2 to 3 years it shows a lot of matting in traffic areas. It is not stain resistant, and does not clean well. Be aware that if your room is wider than 12 feet, the seams will show as the edges begin to unravel. We were advised to not use a vacuum with a beater bar, supposedly that will damage the carpet. That should have been an indicator to us of just how fragile the "Caress" style is. It continues to unravel along the wall edges and room transitions. We have had it shampooed several times in an effort to keep it from looking stained. This is NOT a carpet you would want in your living room, bedroom or any other traffic area. We will live with it for a while longer before we replace it, it was NOT cheap. Overall, we are very disappointed in this carpet. We do not have pets. The warranty? Well, from reading the other reviews regarding Shaw's warranty service, it seems like a non-starter. Part of the problem is probably the installer. He should have advised us against putting this in rooms that would have traffic. It would look very good in a small room that never has traffic, other than that....

"Don't waste your money on any Shaw product"
We spent over $10,000 on Shaw carpet for our home and after a few weeks the carpet has lost it's texture and grabs stains like a magnet. It is important to note that this is Shaw's top end carpet made of 100% ANSO® NYLON supposed to be the most durable stain resistant on the market. Shaw sent out a so called independent inspector but like many people here have noted the inspector always finds a reason to blame the consumer.

"Shaw Smart Thinking Carpet, Not A Smart Buy"
We have been big fans of Shaw Flooring for many years as we had their hardwood products in our last home for over 15 years. Upon moving to our new home we wanted to replace all of the carpet and wood flooring, and again looked to Shaw products expecting similar satisfaction.
We purchased Shaw Smart Thinking carpet for all of our bedrooms, both offices and stairs. We have had the carpet installed for a little over a year and cannot believe how worn it already looks.
We contacted the vendor who we purchased the product from to have them provide an opinion on if it was performing at what they felt was an acceptable level for a carpet only a year old. They were very surprised at the level of wear that was already showing and suggested we submit a warranty claim, which we did.
Not knowing if what we were seeing was "normal" for this product we followed their advice and started the process of submitting a warranty claim. Information we provided to the inspector included how often we vacuumed the carpets (weekly), do we have pets (no), do we wear shoes in the house (no), have we had the carpet shampooed (yes, once) and how many people do we have in our home (4).
After waiting for about two months we finally received a response from Shaw stating that the "traffic patterns" we were seeing are due to matting and crushing of the fibers caused by an improper vacuum schedule and not being cleaned. Additionally the "bearding" we are seeing below the chair in front of of our computer station is a result of site agitation.
I have never written a review of any product previously but am so disappointed in how this product has performed under clearly normal daily activities that I feel the need to inform other consumers before they make the same mistake we have made. Additionally, the response received regarding why we are experiencing the abnormal wear on the carpet is insulting. I am so disappointed that Shaw has chosen to hide behind absurd warranty claims instead of taking care of a long-time repeat customer.
If you are considering a Shaw carpet product and do not intend on vacuuming "daily" but do plan to walk on the carpet then expect to see the carpet begin to matte and fibers show bearding within a year after installation. It should also be expected that according to Shaw this type of deterioration is acceptable and should be expected.

"Looks awful don't purchase"
I had this installed Nov. 2020 it has got to be the worst carpet for showing everything. Vacuum marks, even where the cord lay on the carpet color is directional being grey one way and almost silver the other way.
Every footprint shows, just looks like a hot mess. Absolutely the worst decision I have ever made in flooring. The only thing I can say nice is that it is soft to the touch.
