"Echoing (unhappy) experience with Shaw carpeting"
Like others' experience, our Shaw carpeting, laid in a careful home with two adults who never wear shoes indoors, began to show wear within two years. It also began to stretch and bulge. Shaw's 'process' for remedying a dissatisfied customer's complaint is more of an endurance contest than a program to produce satisfaction. Obviously we will never purchase another Shaw product and will advise all our remodeling clients to avoid Shaw as well.

"How Not to Stand by Your Warranty"
We purchased carpet for our bedroom after very successfully living with berber carpet for a number of years. After less than a year, I called the shop from which I made the purchase, advising I could see wear spots and a wear path from the door to the bathroom. They filed a claim for us with Shaw who sent out an inspector. After only 8 months activity by two elderly adults (no dog, no children) and careful Miele vacuuming, this "inspector" called it "normal wear and tear". This "normal wear and tear" was much worse than my 18 year old carpet on the stairs and upper floor. I could literally close my eyes and find the bald spots. It wore very poorly and, of course, I would not buy Shaw brand carpeting again.

"Defective carpet"
2 1/2 years after shaw carpeting installation my carpet completely faded& lost actual coloring.you can see where a lamp & table were when moved. An independent carpet analyzer tested & determined "fume fading".what a joke...I purchased through LA carpet.they would not fight for the customer what so ever! needless to say I cannot recommend either company

"Don't buy Shaw carpeting"
My husband and I are retired with no pets or children. Two years ago I bought very expensive, top of the line Shaw carpeting for my entire house. After 10 months the carpet looked 10 years old. Representative said he had never had any complaints about the type of carpet I had, but agreed it did need to be replaced. I had new Shaw carpet installed 6 months ago and this carpet looks worse than the previous one. They are replacing this carpet but I was told that I used the wrong vacuum, didn't vacuum enough, and had not had the carpet professionally cleaned. Fortunately, they are refunding my money and I do not have to buy Shaw Carpeting. Getting the 3rd carpet installed in less that 2 years. I appreciate the new carpet but the amount of work that it takes to unload my dining hutch and side board is very time consuming!

"4 year old carpet - 20 year warranty worthless"
Bought Shaw carpet 4 years ago but just at the 1 year mark noticed flattening of carpet near our chairs and couch. We don't wear shoes in that room and vacuum 2x weekly. Shaw rep came out and said in essence nothing wrong with carpet. Now 4+ years we are very unsatisfied and looking to replace, realizing the 20 year warranty means absolutely nothing to the consumer.

"Worthless Warranty"
They boast about their carpet being pet-friendly, what a joke! One time accidental dog urine incident resulted in the color loss of the carpet. StainMaster denied our warranty claim stating they don't warranty color loss caused by carpet cleaners. The only carpet cleaner I used was the Shaw carpet cleaner provided by the retailer that installed the carpet. StainMaster is without a doubt the Most Unethical company that I have ever had the displeasure of doing business with. I will never again buy anything that has a StainMaster label.

"Very Poor Quality"
Purchased a new condo and picked out a shaw carpet at the design center. I also made 2 upgrades from the builders choice. Within 6 months the carpet looked like it was there for 6 years. I contacted the contractor that installed the carpet with no satisfaction and decided to deal with Shaw corporation directly. After many phone calls, emails and inspections made by a representative, they changed out the carpet and that was about a year ago. I did appreciate the fact that they did this, however again the carpet looks like its been here for years. At their request when they decided to change out the carpet they recommended that I change the vacuum cleaner that I was using and I did at a cost that I did not want to pay. Unfortunately, that did not change anything and for me it just comes down to the quality of their carpet. I will be changing out the carpet in the near future but will never purchase a shaw carpet again. Side note....other residents in my condo building are faced with the same situation.
