"Defective carpet twice, third seam no match"
Shaw has no integrity, little quality, yet sales ppl tell u they r best, not true. Shaw sells seconds I think. First inspector by Toledo retailer, with great reputation said defective, 2nd inspection, Shaw said defective, 3rd inspection, said seam not matching, but Shaw had him change it! Costco sent me copy of this last inspection that's how I know Shaw has no integrity. Now they want me to sign a 2nd hush agreement. What does that say about Shaw? Carpet retailer doesn't want to service it as they know that seam won't b right and they didn't tell me it would look like the defective carpet they sold me. Privately owned carpet retailer in Perrysburg, & Holland near Toledo, I never had carpet problems b4 this!

"Consumers Taken advantage of"
I don't understand how a manufacturer is allowed to take advantage of this many consumers. I also paid over 5000 for this carpet for 28.00 yard install - not cheap. And within two years or less the carpet is mashed with extreme corn rows. The rep from the store I bought it from indicated it looked terrible! However no support from the manufacturer. This just doesn't seem right.

"Best warranty ever!"
Never doubt their after install Warranty! After 10 months and a dealer that went bankrupt, not only did they replace the carpet, they covered all the cost of the labor to reenstall. I am very impressed

Review:
"Beautiful for a short time"
We had the Caress Shaw carpeting installed by one of their dealers and at first we really liked it. My sister remarked that it was the most beautiful carpet she had ever seen. We got it in a light color, so the discoloration that other reviewers have mentioned is not a problem, however there are considerable problems with this product. Within a year any seams will become quite noticeable. You will need to carefully trim the fibers sticking up to make it less conspicuous. The carpet mats easily in traffic areas. That is probably the worst thing about it. Shaw doesn't want you to use a beater roll type vacuum, but that is the only way that we can raise the nap at all. Stain resistant? Any spills will need to be shampooed or use a spot treatment like Folex to get them up. Even white wine, after carefully soaking up with paper towels and/or soft cotton cloths will leave spots. We have no pets, no children at home and thought that this carpet would last a similar time than our last type did. Unfortunately, after about 5 years we will need to replace it. Very unsatisfied with the product.

"Fading spots all over, discolored, no pets,"
I have spots that just pop up all over, the carpet is a dark brown, I have no pets & no children, It is baffling why these spots are showing up, Were assuming it's in the dye, The spots are a reddish color.

"Satisfied"
I have Shaw carpet in my house for fifteen years and am very satisfied with its performance. I am reading these reviews and its not the brand, folks it is the quality. You get what you pay for. Don't expect a compact car to feel like a Cadillac. My carpet is medium grade but it is a nylon with a decent density and twist level. I have lived in an apartment with base grade polyester that looked bad after a few months. Don't expect a contractor to put in the best carpet when a cheap polyester looks good enough. You have to do your homework, Shaw is like Ford Moter Company, they offer all qualities and price levels.

"Feel cheated"
My carpet only looked good for 3 years. It's a forest green color and it faded on the bull nose of each stair even though it does not get direct sunlight there. But the bigger problem was the appearance of areas of major discoloration. I honestly can't explain all of these areas. I believe some but not all have to do with my elderly Golden Retriever. When I call my retailer they said the carpet was warrantied against pet urine stains. I was shocked but did as the retailer asked and got copies of all my regular professional cleaning bills, something photos, have the carpet cleaned by their recommend a person who verified that there was urine in the carpet and then eventually had Shaw's carpet inspector come out. Sure enough they turn down the claim. While the inspector said that yes there was evidence of pet urine he said that there was also evidence of multiple cleaning agents. Duh! This is an all too convenient "out" for Shaw effectively making their warranty worthless.

"Guarantee from Shaw."
I am trying right now to see how well Shaw backs it's guarantee. I will post how I do. So far, I am not very satisfied. Maybe they will come through yet.

"Complaint"
Our Shaw carpet was put in by our builder and we upgraded the pad. We have only had it for 2 years, there are only 2 of us at home and we travel so we aren't home more than 50% of the year. The carpet shows mating and heavy wear already. The carpet in our previous home lasted for 30 years and looked better at the end than this does already. From what I am reading, I won't waste my time contacting Shaw and I will never buy their products again.

"Terrible"
Terrible horrible carpet. Ridiculous warranty exclusions. "20 year warranty for abrasive wear." But only fiber loss (i.e., fibers coming out of carpet) is included within what abrasive wear is as defined by Shaw. Crushing and matting is excluded. So, your carpet will look like shit within 6 months of normal use, but the fibers won't fall out - which is actually worse because now it's not under warranty. I'll never purchase a Shaw product again and will speak out against them every change I get.
