Review:
"Shaw Smart Thinking Carpet, Not A Smart Buy"
We have been big fans of Shaw Flooring for many years as we had their hardwood products in our last home for over 15 years. Upon moving to our new home we wanted to replace all of the carpet and wood flooring, and again looked to Shaw products expecting similar satisfaction. We purchased Shaw Smart Thinking carpet for all of our bedrooms, both offices and stairs. We have had the carpet installed for a little over a year and cannot believe how worn it already looks. We contacted the vendor who we purchased the product from to have them provide an opinion on if it was performing at what they felt was an acceptable level for a carpet only a year old. They were very surprised at the level of wear that was already showing and suggested we submit a warranty claim, which we did. Not knowing if what we were seeing was "normal" for this product we followed their advice and started the process of submitting a warranty claim. Information we provided to the inspector included how often we vacuumed the carpets (weekly), do we have pets (no), do we wear shoes in the house (no), have we had the carpet shampooed (yes, once) and how many people do we have in our home (4). After waiting for about two months we finally received a response from Shaw stating that the "traffic patterns" we were seeing are due to matting and crushing of the fibers caused by an improper vacuum schedule and not being cleaned. Additionally the "bearding" we are seeing below the chair in front of of our computer station is a result of site agitation. I have never written a review of any product previously but am so disappointed in how this product has performed under clearly normal daily activities that I feel the need to inform other consumers before they make the same mistake we have made. Additionally, the response received regarding why we are experiencing the abnormal wear on the carpet is insulting. I am so disappointed that Shaw has chosen to hide behind absurd warranty claims instead of taking care of a long-time repeat customer. If you are considering a Shaw carpet product and do not intend on vacuuming "daily" but do plan to walk on the carpet then expect to see the carpet begin to matte and fibers show bearding within a year after installation. It should also be expected that according to Shaw this type of deterioration is acceptable and should be expected.

"Looks awful don't purchase"
I had this installed Nov. 2020 it has got to be the worst carpet for showing everything. Vacuum marks, even where the cord lay on the carpet color is directional being grey one way and almost silver the other way. Every footprint shows, just looks like a hot mess. Absolutely the worst decision I have ever made in flooring. The only thing I can say nice is that it is soft to the touch.

"Poor pattern retention and wear"
We purchased Shaw Carpet for our TV room and bedroom from Great Floors in Brantford, ON. We are both seniors and have no pets. In three years we noticed the pattern was fading. We called Great Floors who said that they had no responsibility but contacted Shaw Carpets who sent an inspector. He was very thorough, taking photos comparing the worn carpet with a new end that we had, testing for residue left by the carpet cleaners, spillage of food, drink etc., and also for pet urine, All tests showed no signs of any of what he was looking for. The report did note that "The owners wore dark soled slippers", Shaw's conclusion .. there was nothing wrong with the carpet. So we are left with a shabby looking three year old floor that we cannot afford to replace. Run, don't walk away from Shaw Carpets. Great Floors has also left us holding the bag for an inferior product that they sold us.

"Junk pure Junk"
Do not buy this: they "exclude" matting and crushing or any change in appearance retention. So I admit I bought this junk and sure enough in 3 years it looks about 15 years old due to matting and crushing. And Nylon is supposed to be the cure for that but not the nylon Shaw uses. I would encourage anyone thinking of this company or any company and check the warranty for matting and crushing if it is excluded find another.

"Matting, Dont buy"
To whom it may concern, I had a professional installer install the cashmere IV on March 15, 2020. By November 2, 2020 it showed significant matting. I live alone in a condominium and vaccuum regularly.

"Junk"
Carpet is showing wear after only 2 months. Shaw will not stand behind it. Saying daily vacuuming is required for warranty. It started showing wear in the first few weeks and has now only been installed barely 2 months and we never wear our shoes in the house and neither does the very little company we get

"Horrible! Run from All Shaw products."
Run! Do NOT purchase Home Depot's Life Proof carpet. Do NOT but Shaw! They do not back their products nor even try to work with you. Worst carpet and service ever. Our carpet is 4 months old, looks 10 years. Two extremely Immaculate people live here. Carpet is junk and Shaw is a sham!

Review:
"Matted"
Wish I had done my homework and did some research. Thought Shaw was a reputable carpet so went with it. Installer put in a top grade pad and we paid more than the carpet is worth, considering how it has matted. This was installed October 2015. Within two years the twist of the fibers have a look of old carpet. There is only two adults and no animals in our home. Love the color, that is about all. We definitely would not buy this again.

Review:
"Looks defective and is worn after 3 1/2 years"
OMG! Should have done my research about Shaw and their carpeting before I made the purchase. The carpet has parallel raised creases in the carpet to included the stairs and is already matted/worn. There are only 2 adults and a dog living in the house. The carpet was appropriately stretched when it was laid, yet now it is loose and needs to be re-stretched. After 3 1/2 years this carpet looks worse that the 25+ year old carpeting that it replaced. The company that installed the carpet will be contacting the Shaw rep to come to look at our carpet. The installer voiced complaints of Shaw saying they won't take responsibility. Shame on the installer if he knew that before he installed my carpet. Can't wait to meet with the Shaw rep. I'll meditate before his/her arrival.
